Great Barrier Reef

Hi! Welcome to our page on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. 

 

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living thing in the world.  It is the only  living organism in the world that is visible from Outer space.  It is also the home of many different and varied organisms. We have studied these organisms and made Voicethreads below so you can learn about them also.

Nudibranchs are cool 

A look at the fascinating,colorful sea slugs, whose name means "naked gills"

Sea Turtles are gentle giants of the reef 

 

Corals are the building blocks of the coral reef

Giant clams,tubeworms,and jellyfish are filter feeders 

 

Starfish, shrimps, and crabs are scavengers on the reef

 

The clownfish and the anemone have a symbiotic relationship 

Octopusses, squid and cuttlefish are interesting inhabitants 

 Sharks, rays and moray eels are predators in this environment

 There are many different ways to survive on the reef 

And finally,those fascinating, fabulous, fish

The stars of the show, colorful and diverse
