The Aloha State

 

Hawaii consists of eight main island: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island of Hawaii.  Hawaii was founded as a state in August 21, 1959. Its the 50th state. Hawaii's capital city is Honolulu.


 

 
Hawaii's nickname is "The Aloha State" and "The paradise of the pacific"  
Hawaii is the only state with a tropical rain forest.  
Hawaii's State bird is Nene ( Hawaiian Goose). Nene is exclusively found in the wild island of Oahu, Maui, Kaua'i, and Hawai'i.   

The Hawaiian state dance is Hula. Hula is a Polynesian dance form accompanied by chant (oil) or song (mele).

The Hawaiian state flower is Yellow Hibiscus or Ma'o hau hele in Hawaiian.

 

 

The Hawaiian state animal is Humpback Whale. The Humpback Whale is an endangered species. There are 21,000 protected Humpback whales in Hawaii.

The biggest volcano is located in Hawaii. Mauna Loa is the biggest volcano located in Big Island of Hawaii.   
The Hawaiian state tree is called Kukui or Candlenut.   
The Hawaii's national anthem is Hawaii Ponoi .  
The Pearl Harbor attack happened in December 7, 1941. It was attacked by the Japanese Imperial General.  

The State motto is " The life of the land is perpetuated righteousness". "Ua-Mau-Ke-Ea-I-Ka-Aina-I-Ka-Pono" in hawaiian.
