Why are fossil fuels so rare?Levi    Nature
How do clouds form? Rosemary

Rosemary, clouds are made of very tiny drops of liquid water called cloud drops or cloud droplets. Cloud droplets stick together to form larger heavier raindrops, which fall to the ground where they collect in puddles, lakes, rivers, and oceans. The water on the surface of pools of water evaporates, which means liquid water changes to a vapor (gas). Water vapor is made up of individual water molecules that can move in any direction. These molecules zip around and even bang into each other. But they generally bounce back and keep going. Water vapor mixes with air. When this mixture rises to higher cooler altitudes (distance above earth) the water molecules lose energy and move slower. Now instead of bouncing off each other they start sticking together forming cloud droplets. The change from water vapor to liquid water is called condensation.

how do typhoons develop strong winds? Kayla  Kayla, warm air rises and cold air sinks. Air also moves from a high pressure area to a low pressure. Air pressur and changes in temperature all are part of creating wind. Typhoons--hurricanes- -develop in the Southern Hemisphere in area where the ocean water is warm. At first it is just a storm, but as it move north the speed of the wind increases--temperature and pressure changes affect the wind speed. When it is very cold outdoors, you can experiment with movement of air by slightly opening a door leading to the outdoors. Hold a narrow strip of paper near the opening. The warm air inside will rush out the opening pushing the paper strip outward. In the summer the reverse would be true. The warm air from outdoors would rush into the room. The greater the difference in the temperature, the faster the air moves.  Weather/Storms
Wht makes clouds change shape?  Ja'lynn Ja'lynn, Clouds are made of tiny water drops. Their shape changes as wind blows them around. Cloud shape also can change when the drops of water evaporate.   Clouds
What is a Blue Moon?  Nakesha   Nakesha, A blue moon has nothing to do with the Moon's color. Instead, it refers to the second full moon within the same month.
Why are some clouds white and others dark?

Why are clouds white? Why are clouds dark? (Scattering)

What make the sky blue? Ja'lynn
Ja'lynn, The color of the sky or anything depends on the color of light coming from the object and entering your eye. Sunlight is made of seven different colors of light, the same as in a rainbow--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The sky is like an ocean of air, which is made of different kinds of gases. These gases absorb (soak up or take in) all the light colors and then radiate (send out the light colors). The bluish light colors are radiated in many directions while the remaining light colors basically continue in the same direction as when they were absorbed. This is called scattering.

Since the bluish light colors are scattered in all directions, no matter where you look blue light from the sky comes toward you.

How can it rain and be sunny at the same time? Jade  Jade, During daytime, the Sun is always present in the sky. That is why it is not like nighttime when it rains. Rain clouds block some of the sunlight, so it is darker during a heavy rain when the dark rain clouds cover the sky where you are. But a few miles away, if no rain clouds cover the sky, it is bright and sunny.
